고객 획득 비용 (CAC, Customer Acquisition Cost)

용어 설명

✅ 고객 획득 비용(CAC)이란, Customer Acquisition Cost의 약자로 말 그대로 '한명의 고객을 획득하는 데 발생한 마케팅 비용'을 말합니다. 가장 먼저 고객이라고 부르는 시점을 정의하고 이 시점까지 새로운 고객을 유치하는 데 드는 비용으로 계산합니다.

계산 식

✔ 전체 마케팅 비용 / 새로운 고객 수 = 고객 획득 비용

예시) 마케팅 담당자 - 대표님! 이번 3월, 238LAB은 마케팅 비용으로 총 3천만원을 사용했고, 유치한 신규 고객이 7천명입니다. CAC는 약 4,285원입니다.

활용 방법

🎓 LTV(고객 1명 당 가져다 주는 평균 수익)과 함께 보세요!

➡ 카페 사장님인 '김사장님'은 고객 1명을 모집하는 데 3만원이 발생한다는 내용을 들었어요. 마케팅 비용을 많이 쓰는 것 같이 보여 고민이 많아요. 살펴 보니 고객 10명 중 2명은 단골 고객이 되었으며 단골 고객 1명 당 가져다 주는 평균 수익(LTV)은 한달에 약 8만원이었어요.

☑ 김사장님은 '단골 고객 유치 전략'을 내세워 신규 고객 10명 중 4명까지 단골 고객으로 만드는 데 성공했어요. 한 달에 32만원 씩 추가 된 고정 매출이 쌓여 이후에는 마케팅 비용 투자 없이 가게를 원활하게 운영할 수 있게 됐어요.

주의사항

❗ 간혹 고객 '획득'을 정의하는 기준이 다를 수 있어서 회사 또는 사업체의 발언을 잘 살펴봐야 합니다.

❗ CAC가 높다고 해서 마케팅을 멈출 이유가 없어요! 다른 지표와 함께 엮으면 더 좋은 해결 방안이 나올 수 있어요.
