용어 설명

✅ CPM은 Cost Per Mile의 약자로 1,000회 조회 당 비용을 말해요. 이미지 광고에서 주로 사용되는 용어로 1-2회 노출이 아닌 대량으로 노출이 가능한 채널에서 주로 사용하는 방식이에요. 구글 애즈, 네이버 GFA, 메타 비즈니스 등의 채널에서 주로 활용되고 있어요

계산법

✔ (마케팅 비용 / 노출 수) = CPM

예시) 마케팅 담당자 - 대표님! 잠재고객군이 추려져서 몇몇 타겟 설정을 진행 했습니다. 기존 CPM 단가가 2,000원에서 5,000원가량으로 올라갔지만 해당 타겟 잠재 고객군은 일반 고객 대비 전환율이 2%가량 높아서 CAC는 낮을 것으로 기대됩니다.

활용 방법

🎓 CPM 단가는 클릭률(CTR)과 고객획득비용(CAC)을 함께 보시는 것이 좋아요

➡ 소품을 판매하는 '윤사장님'은 인스타 광고를 통해 제품 판매를 늘려보고 싶다는 생각이 들었습니다. 1,000명에게 노출이 되는 데 1,200원 가량이라 저렴한 것이라 생각이 들어 당장에라도 시작을 준비중입니다.

☑ 실제로 광고를 돌려 보니, 1000명 중 광고를 클릭 한 사람은 단 4명에 불과했어요. 생각보다 클릭이 저조하여 이미지 소재를 조금 더 명확하게 개선을 하고 다시 광고를 돌려보니 1,000명 당 9명이 클릭을 했어요. 이런 식으로 효율을 높여가다 보니 1,000명 당 20명 가량이 클릭을 하며 CPC를 60원까지 낮출 수 있었습니다!

주의사항

❗ CPM은 잠재 고객을 설정하다 보면 단가가 배수로 올라갈 수 있어요.

❗ 따라서 기존 내부 자료를 활용해 최대한 검증 된 '잠재고객' 위주로 광고를 세팅하는 것이 중요해요. 단가가 높아지더라도 클릭률(CTR)과 전환율(CR)이 크게 차이가 난다면 오히려 비용을 아낄 수 있죠
